The London Conference, October 2013

Centre for London and the JP Morgan Chase / Brookings Institution’s Global Cities Initiative hosted a major one day conference in London on 29th October 2013. The conference gaveLondon Conference imagecity leaders an opportunity to explore the challenges faced by London and Europe’s global cities as the balance of economic power across the world shifts. Greg Clark and Tim Moonen’s paper on this topic, Europe’s Cities in a Global Economy, was launched at the event, and can be downloaded from the Business of Cities website . MAS Summit, New York, October 2013

In October 2013 the Municipal Arts Society for New York hosted its MAS imageannual summit in the city, on the subject of ‘Innovation and Leadership’. The summit lasted for two days, was attended by 100 speakers and 1,100 attendees. Greg Clark was one of the Summit’s keynote speakers, and presented on the topic of ‘How Cities Compete and Learn in the New Economy: New York and its Global Peers’. Greg explored how the world’s leading cities could collaborate and learn from each other, despite their continuing competition. You can watch Greg’s presentation here
